Upper back strengthening and balance galore in this dynamic springtime flow. Unfortunately for the last three minutes, Derek clicked his microphone off, so only the music will guide you—it's the chill out section, so not much is lost. It's also a wonderful boost for Derek's sense of humility.
This class will take you through a well rounded intermediate vinyasa flow. Become present to your experience at every level of your being - body, emotions and mind. May you fall in love with the journey and keep the physical goals in perspective. Namaste!
In this second round of booty building yoga we’ll warm up the glutes and thighs with leg pulses on the knees. Then move into a heat building standing sequencing sure to tone and tighten. While your mind works to smooth out the movements, your body will be working with your awesome smooth curves.
Take the time to connect inward and set an intention to start fresh, tapping into a new version of yourself. Enjoy a short yet well-rounded flow for your body, mind, and spirit. Give yourself permission to feel whatever genuinely arises. Practice holding space for your highs and lows, ups and downs with acceptance and non-judgment. Above all else, breathe! Namaste, Yogis!
Carrying tension in your shoulders and upper back? Then this class is for you! We warm the body with strong sun salutations and dive deep into shoulder openers throughout the practice. Challenging standing poses and core work are mixed in. You will feel a deep release in your upper body, shoulders and neck by the time you land in Savasana! Enjoy!
Feel like a peace sandwich? We start with a short meditation designed to get you focused on your breath and the way it affects your nervous system. Then we flow, targeting the hips, hamstrings and shoulders and firing up the core. A nice backbend, hip and hamstring opening, and yoga nidra to guarantee a deep Savasana. Good stuff for your mental, emotional and physical well-being! I said it was a rise and shine practice, but you can do this anytime you need to hit the reset button. If you want to make this an evening practice, skip the core and do a restorative bridge pose :)

This dynamic vinyasa practice calls upon the 5 elements to help us to synchronize with the energies around us and move with, not against, the flow of life. Peak poses include a variation of Dwi Pada Koundinyasana, a made-up shape called "Unicorn Pose" and Scorpion.
Nursing a strained glute med, Derek applies a therapeutic approach to dealing with an injury in this stretch-based sequence, including a number of reclining postures as well as a few standing poses to close.
This practice is all about learning to take your time and move mindfully. Holding poses requires deep focus, attention and awareness, they also build a lot of heat! Sun Salutations done with intention help to warm the muscles in the body and plank variations create overall strength. Standing poses, backbends and core work will leave you ready for a very relaxing Savasana! Learn to slow down and reconnect to yourself.
