A classic balancing pose, tree pose teaches us to root down and rise up. The standing leg is like the trunk of your tree, the roots grow down into the earth, your trunk and limbs reach for the sun. Start with the variation that makes sense for you, and breathe!
A well rounded slow flow with emphasis on practicing healthfully and mindfully so the asanas are sustainable. In the yoga sutras we are taught to bring sthira and sukha or "effort and ease" into every posture. Let's practice!
This is a steady, strong flow class. We go through sun salutations and standing poses including a flowy, graceful string of poses that stretch the IT band and hip flexors. Forward bends, backbends, twists and balance poses. All in 46 minutes. Enjoy.
If you want to have fun while you work your asana off, look no further! Join in for this sweaty, flowing, hip-opening, core strengthening, arm balancing, inverting good time. Savasana is earned and awesome and so are you.
We can't control what happens around us, what other people will do, say or want, how they'll behave, or what situations may arise in our lives that we never could have planned for or seen coming. We don't have control over that, but we do have power, and our power lies in how we respond to what we're given, how we rise up and thrive regardless of what's happening around us. This class is all about finding your power. You can't control whether you have balance from one practice to the next, but you can work on breathing deeply on the days when you wobble, on developing a sense of humor about yourself and the human condition. Ready to get sweaty and give it a whirl?
How do we live in a state of inspiration? How do we not take our daily surroundings and routines for granted? How do we really see the people closest to us without thinking we know all there is to know already? This is the theme as we flow and breathe and move, opening the hips, shoulders and hamstrings, strengthening the core and staying curious as we go! Expect to sweat and laugh. Please note: there is some independent flow in this practice (during the warm-up, you'll be invited to take 5 series A on your own).
