How do we live in a state of inspiration? How do we not take our daily surroundings and routines for granted? How do we really see the people closest to us without thinking we know all there is to know already? This is the theme as we flow and breathe and move, opening the hips, shoulders and hamstrings, strengthening the core and staying curious as we go! Expect to sweat and laugh. Please note: there is some independent flow in this practice (during the warm-up, you'll be invited to take 5 series A on your own).
Stay tuned into your breath, and find your focal points so you’re taking in less information from the world around you for a little while, and more from the one within you. That way you can figure out how to practice today, in a way that will strengthen and nurture you. It’s the same skill you use when you go to a busy restaurant with a friend, and want to focus on your friend, and not the chaos around you. It’s the same ability we need to choose one thought over another, and to decide what we’re going to focus on. Hone your focus as we open the hips, hamstrings and shoulders, play with arm balances and inversions, fire up the core, open the heart, and head into savasana feeling open!
Build your heat and find your balance in this short fiery flow.
The sequences will build up the heat right from the start.
Practice working your breath and finding a steady gaze so you can move with grace and ease. Yoga isn't just about sitting into a pose but also about how you arrived there. Let's practice being smooth between the moves.
Enjoy this 30 minute flow anytime in your day! Feel into the poses, relax with the help of your breath and allow your experience to be what it is! Be aware of your inner dialogue. Speak to yourself in a way that is kind. Quick warm up, sun salutes, warrior one flow, bow pose, pigeon, spinal twists, a gentle forward fold and savasana. Enjoy, Yogis!
A sweaty class with a lot of core strength work and an emphasis on working on your own experience and with your own challenges. Down dog or child’s pose? Both are the right answer, but there are plenty of opportunities here to work hard with a dancing warrior flow and arm balance opportunities. There’s also a long, sweet and relaxing end to class with a triple dose of hip opening featuring janu sirsasana, double pigeon, and baddha konasana, as well as some heart opening opportunities with back bends and twists.
If you're looking for a continuous flow that raises your heart-rate and keeps you moving mindfully, look no further! Great for days when you're high on energy and low on time, and want a good sweat followed by a deep stretch at the end. You'll earn it!
Give your shoulders and hamstrings some love in this dynamic flow practice! We build heat with sun salutations and focus on releasing tension in the upper back, neck, shoulders, legs and hamstrings. Standing balancing poses and core work are mixed in to build strength. Finishing stretches prepare you for a sweet and relaxing savasana!
Upper back strengthening and balance galore in this dynamic springtime flow. Unfortunately for the last three minutes, Derek clicked his microphone off, so only the music will guide you—it's the chill out section, so not much is lost. It's also a wonderful boost for Derek's sense of humility.
