This is a slow, mindful flow designed to help you reset and calm your nervous system, particularly if you're feeling anxious. We do many breathing exercises throughout including alternate nostril breathing, breath retention (4-6-8 breathing), and ujjayi breathing, all while moving slowly and with intention. You will work in this class and you will probably sweat. There is core work and there are backbends, you will open your hips, shoulders and hamstrings, but the intention is to calm the nervous system and walk away from your mat feeling deeply grounded. Our nervous systems are built for short bursts of stress, not longterm stress, so if you're going through some of life's harder experiences, it's essential to find the tools that help you return to center.
