When you get on your mat you have the opportunity to be in a respectful and compassionate conversation with your body. Your mind may have ideas about what it wants your body to do, and your body is going to have feedback. The idea is to listen and to be in a loving partnership with your body - that's when it will truly open and strengthen for you! So as you go from shape to shape, ask your body, "Does this feel right?" and then listen and respond. Maybe you'll go deeper, maybe you'll back off, but whatever you do you'll be creating an environment of trust and deep listening as you open your hips, shoulders and hamstrings, strengthen your core, open your heart and possibly stand on your hands! Ready?
