De Jur has been a yoga devotee for over 20 years. Thriving from the many benefits of yoga, she was inspired to become a yoga therapist in 2013. De Jur has taught countless mainstream classes, while specializing in classes for marginalized populations, seniors and those in diversions programs. Her classes are accessible and welcoming especially to those who do not always feel represented in spaces where yoga happens. De Jur is a contributor to the Yoga Service Council’s best practices book series Best Practices for Yoga in the Criminal Justice System. She is an Accessible Yoga Ambassador and the featured model in Jivana Heyman’s book, Accessible Yoga, Poses and Practices for Every Body, Yoga After 50 For Dummies, by Dr. Larry Payne PhD. and AARP and Melanie Klein’s, Embodied Resilience through Yoga: 30 Mindful Essays. De Jur co-chaired at the 2019 International Association of Yoga Therapists Conference. She presented at Global Yoga Therapy Day and WisePause Lifestyle Virtual Global Experience. She moonlights as a flight attendant.
We will share time together exploring yoga from our chairs. Breath work wrapped around gentle twists, folds, hip openers and more to create mobility, spaciousness and body awareness. An armless chair is preferred...any chair will, do placed on your mat. Suitable for all, with a focus on accessibility for older adults. All bodies welcome.
