This practice focuses on the upper body. First we open and stretch all of the muscles along the upper back while building strength in the core to help you lift off into handstand! If you often feel tightness between the shoulder blades, upper traps or neck, then this practice is for you! You will also start to build the necessary confidence to stand on your hands or balance in headstand. This one is fun for all. Enjoy!
The focus of this practice is how to meet the challenges we face both on and off the mat with dignity and poise. When faced with a challenge - what blessings are there? What does the difficult pose or life circumstance have to teach you? Our practice provides a wonderful opportunity to work on observing and overcoming our reactions and limitations. Many people worry more about form—how they look—over function—how they move. That's a shame. This strong flow is a reminder that using your body well is way more important than what your body looks like. There's plenty of focus on form, by the way, just not the one you see in the mirror.
A sweaty flow that takes you through a full range of opening for your hips, with some side waist lengthening to take you deeper. Gate pose and Side Angle variations get you into your waist; we get into the hips with Humble Warrior, and Warrior 1 and 2; and some low and high Crescent variations and Lizard get into the psoas and front hip region. Of course there's plenty of time to sweat and flow, and then to release and open with heart openers and some deep hip opening on the floor.

This practice moves through a series of neutral standing poses, preparing the body for inversions and deep backbends. When we find neutral rotation in the hips, it allows our spine to maintain good posture throughout the day. This is a great practice for any time of the day! Explore what you find and take the time to enjoy any wobbles or so-called "imperfections" with poses like Bird of Paradise, Half Moon pose and a Crescent lunge twist. There's plenty of time to let it all go in Lizard, Single Pigeon and Hanumanasana, and of course, some heart opening and core strengthening before Savasana.
