We are working towards an advanced arm balance in this class. Despite that, this is an intermediate class, culminating in an advanced pose. We do a lot of hip and hamstring stretches to prepare to do the eight-limbed pose. There's also a nice balanced flow of standing poses and backbends. I encourage you to play! Enjoy!

If you're looking to deepen your backbend practice or understand backbends more deeply, look no further! We warm up the spine, open the shoulders, chest, upper back, quadriceps and hip flexors and play with all kinds of backbends! King Arthur makes an appearance, and you might find yourself in kapotasana or kapotasana prep! Regardless of where you end up, backbending practices have a unique energy! They are great for times when you need a boost of confidence, or are working with depression. There is such a shift in energy when you focus on opening the front body and leading with your heart! Enjoy yogis! (This is intermediate/advanced, but if you listen to your body and back off when you need to, intermediate practitioners will be fine :)) Enjoy, yogis!

Hello, yogis! So happy to be with you in the garden! This is a well-rounded flow with extra love for the hips, hamstrings and glutes! Two blocks will be handy if you have them, or anything sturdy to "lift the floor up" if needed! Core strengthening and a little fun in crow pose along the way, monkey pose, lizard pose, a flipped out dog and so much more! Deep, mindful breathing throughout, so you release stress and tension and return to center. Let's play!

Want to understand how to approach your backbends safely? So much of it has to do with understanding the anatomy involved and building your foundation! Take a little trip opening the front side of your body deeply, but also strengthening your core and giving your back body lots of love so you are centered! And perhaps we'll end up in a forearm stand or scorpion forearm stand together! A block and a strap will be helpful but not essential!

I filmed this class in response to a number of people who expressed they're struggling with motivation! I get it. We're in a strange set of circumstances and it's been this way for almost a year! It isn't easy and some days are harder than others, but I know there are some things that work! Changing your environment, shifting your perspective and working with your breath, it is possible to unlock energy you didn't know you had! I intended for this to be a shorter class, but once I got going, I felt so good I didn't want to stop! Join me for some breath-work, hip, hamstring and shoulder-opening, core strengthening, arm balancing fun. A surprise inversion at the end, too! We've got this!

If you think you can't get a LOT done in 24 minutes, grab your mat and hit Play! This is an energizing burst of fun that is sure to get you out of your head and into your body quickly! We start off with cat/cow and Series C, but move into a heart-pumping chair pose to goddess pose to chair pose flow that will open your hips and make you say Oh. My. Quads. 6-minute abs included because I know you love them, backbends, and all other manner of fun awaits you. Enjoy! Breathe! Rest after ;-)

Hello, friends! This is the perfect practice for days when you have a moderate amount of energy and want to move slowly, feel deeply and really open your shoulders, side body, and especially your hips! This practice may or may not lead you into Horse Face Pose, Vatayanasana. The mythology around the pose is that you are taking the shape of the horse Vishnu (embodied as the avatar Kalki) will ride to bring peace, compassion, sanity and abundance back to earth. Wouldn't that be nice? In order to find the pose, half lotus has to be comfortable for you! If it isn't, please skip the pose! A blanket under your knee may be helpful. Enjoy, yogis!

Receive whatever flows through in this practice as a message from your heart and let it be just as it is. Take the time to explore the fullness of your practice as you would get to know a loving friend. What to expect: a gentle warm up, sun salutations, a humble warrior flow, standing balances, navasana, supported shoulder-stand, bridge, wheel, spinal twists, savasana, and a gratitude meditation. Enjoy, loves!!

This practice in the beautiful Yogis Anonymous Garden is a bendy, balance-y flow. We open with a variation on Sun Salutation C. From there we move on to standing poses to strengthen the legs, open the hips, and stretch the hamstrings. We complete the practice with twists, floor stretches, and backbends. Enjoy!
